fall style flow.

Today is the first official day of Fall which happens to be my favorite season. I love how colorful and cool it is. I love the traditions of the season and being cozy in my favorite sweater while watching football; so terribly cliche but it’s true.  Dressing my little one is among my most favorite things to do. I am fashion obsessed, in general, and equally so as it pertains to children’s clothing. Here are some of our favorite transitional pieces to pair together as the warmth of summer fades and the coolness of fall is upon us.

Dress Layering

Adding tights and a button down collared shirt to a sweet, summer dress will help you get more wear out of them! We LOVE a good layered look.

Mixed Seasons

A lightweight, classic sweatshirt paired with a heavier pair of shorts or a skirt is a great way to transition into cooler temps. And I love mixing textures; the sheen of the faux leather shorts with the quilted pattern of the sweatshirt just compliment each other so well.

Classic Trench

Every woman needs a classic trench coat so why not one for little miss? This piece is a fall staple. An absolute must have. I love that it’s lightweight so she can run wild and how it goes so effortlessly with most items in her closet.

The Denim Jacket Forever Reigns

You just can’t lose with a denim jacket. I love adding this forever piece to a full skirted dress giving it the perfect juxtaposition of feminine and masculine. Plus, adding a denim jacket to dresses and skirts is another great way to get more life out of her summer clothes.

Transitional ideas for your little boy… A denim jacket over a hooded sweatshirt. A beanie with shorts and a sweater. A puffy vest with a lightweight hoodie and straight leg shorts. A lightweight cardigan with a tee shirt and jeans. (I hope I get to dress a little man someday!)

We are welcoming Fall with open arms in our home! Happy first day of this fresh, new season to you! Enjoy.
